Historical Fiction

Margaret Oliphant wrote several works of historical fiction, most of them still interesting and enjoyable today. Of less merit are Caleb Field and Magdalen Hepburn, in which she experimented in a historical "style" not her own, though of course her own voice still comes through to some extent.
